Study on selected nematode taxa of the orders Mononchida and Dorylaimida from Vietnam and Bulgaria
Project duration: 2023 - 2024
Keywords: Bulgaria, Mononchida, Vietnam, methods, orders, Dorylaimida, integrative approach – morphology and DNA based methods methods
Abstract

The aim of the project proposal is to investigate the diversity of species in the target genera – Labronema, Enchodelus and Mylonchulus in both countries using an integrative approach. Will be studied simultaneously morphology (through measurements developed for each genus) and post-embryonic development of larval stages, together with DNA barcoding using the 18S or the 28S rRNA genes (domains D2-D3). The results so far include the description of two new species of the genus Labronema from Vietnam. The publication is in its final stage. The description of a new species of the genus Enchodelus from Bulgaria is currently under preparation.
